The guiding principle behind this heavenly new beginning was not only Birgitta Ornau's tireless drive to give her dog food 100% food quality without compromising the naturalness and freshness of the products, but also the fact that the demands and wishes of dog owners were constantly increasing as the market developed.
The demand for natural freshness and less processed food has grown in particular during and after the Coronavirus era. However, this was almost impossible to achieve with canned and dried foods, as these are heated for such a long time, regardless of their raw material quality, that although the shelf life of the unrefrigerated products is extremely extended, their freshness and naturalness is reduced to the same extent.

Birgitta Ornau was aware that not all dogs tolerate raw meat and that many dog owners also avoid it due to its susceptibility to germs and the resulting health risks for humans and animals. Above all, the challenging and expensive logistics of frozen food handling, as well as the time-consuming and inflexible defrosting of frozen products, kept the restless and solution-oriented entrepreneur's thoughts spinning.
Whether by chance or simply as a result of her constant preoccupation with this challenging topic, she finally had the brilliant idea while standing in front of a supermarket shelf looking at fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies. How can it be that such natural juices can keep for up to 4 months without being heated and without any additives and still guarantee 100% freshness and a high degree of naturalness?
The magic word is HPP (= High Pressure Procedure) and is a gentle process in which constant high pressure is applied to the already packaged product at just 5 degrees Celsius for 4-5 minutes without the use of any heat. While all bad germs and bacteria burst and are eliminated, almost all vitamins, minerals and trace elements are demonstrably retained.
